Based on the runoff scouring experiments, the relationship between the soil detachment rate of the loess slope surface(Dr)and the energy consumption(ΔE)is analyzed using the law of conservation energy. The soil detachment rate model was built under the experimental soil condition. The results show that there exists the critical energy consumption condition in the initial period of soil detachment. The soil erosion occurred when the energy consumption exceed 7.387J。
